When the Most Interesting Man in the World departed for Mars, it left people wondering, “Who’s the most interesting person in the world now?” Some even asked themselves, “Why can’t it be me?” So we created the Dos Equis Most Interesting Index. An algorithm that scrubbed your social profile to determine just how interesting you truly are. It could even give you a world ranking, your own personal “legend line” along with tips on how to be even more interesting.
After you received your world ranking and a “not-so-legend” line, you could share it out on social. It spread rapidly as everyone wanted to know how they compared to their friends.
To amplify the campaign, we enlisted the help of some celebrity fans. But we didn’t want to feature just anyone. We needed celebrities who were kinda interesting, but probably wouldn’t be at the top of the rankings. Not to mention, they needed to have a pretty good sense of humor about it.
